Summer Courses & Workshops

Attention teaching artists!

Dear artists,

Arts on the Hudson is piloting a series of short summer courses and single-day workshops geared towards adults. We’re looking for teaching artists or professional artists who are interested in incorporating teaching into their practice.

The short courses will consist of three 1 and ½ hour classes each. Students can enroll in single classes or the whole course (a ‘three class pack’) at a discount. We will have a July session, an early August session, and late August session that runs into the first week of September. We will also be offering one-day workshops throughout July and August. Courses and workshops will be held at an arts studio in the Van Leer neighborhood of Jersey City, between Hamilton Park and Hoboken.

We have a few objectives in our summer course & workshop initiative:

  • offer artists a paid opportunity to share their creative expertise with the community
  • provide artists with teacher training and an introduction to course planning, so artists have the opportunity to teach with confidence and professionalism and students receive a quality introduction to the art form
  • determine levels of interest in different media and class formats
  • foster creative connections and social/networking opportunities for individuals 18+

If you have an idea for a course or workshop you’d like to teach, please fill out and submit a preliminary proposal form, linked below, by Monday, June 18th. If you have questions, comments, or would like to run ideas by me, feel free to reach out using our contact form.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!!
