Arts on the Hudson seeks to improve the cultural life of Jersey City and the greater metropolitan community by promoting and organizing local art and arts education by:

  • providing a platform for a diversity of voices and perspectives to develop new, original, and experimental arts;
  • partnering with various artists and arts organizations within our community to promote awareness of and accessibility to their work through the creation of promotional media;
  • supporting and popularizing the arts through high quality programming such as performances, exhibitions, showcases, festivals, and auctions;
  • increasing public awareness of the value of art and providing opportunities for it to be purchased and collected;
  • providing affordable art classes in visual, literary, and performing arts for children and adults;
  • encouraging gifted students to continue their study of the arts through opportunities both within and beyond our programs;
  • connecting artists with paid teaching and art-making positions;
  • providing all aforementioned activities to members of the public with no special constituency;
  • attracting, collaborating, and exchanging with leading artists not only from Hudson County and the greater New York Metro area but also the global community.
